Method
What Haven
does differently.
Most repair tools are header patchers that hope the rest just lines up. Haven works on a deeper level.
The workflow
Preview first.
Pay once you're sure.
Nobody wants to wait half an hour for a repair only to find out afterwards that the result is useless. Haven shows you a repaired snippet before every payment — free, fast, honest.
- 01
Drop in your files
Drag one or more broken recordings into the app. Haven scans them automatically and detects codec, camera and damage pattern — all locally, nothing gets uploaded.
- 02
Sample preview per file
Instead of waiting 30 minutes for the full repair, Haven fixes a short snippet (~30 seconds) of each file and plays it back for you — free. You see the image quality and audio sync before you spend a single credit.
- 03
Add to cart, see the credit cost
Per file: 1 credit = 10 seconds of footage. In the cart you see the exact credit cost for each file and the total. If your balance runs short, you can top up on the spot.
- 04
Unlock — global progress with ETA
One click fully repairs every selected file. A global progress bar shows the estimated time remaining, and you can minimize the app in the meantime. Your originals are never overwritten.
How it works
Four steps. Five minutes.
- 01
Drop in your file
Drag the broken MP4 into Haven. The analysis runs in seconds — header, frame structure, audio streams.
- 02
Pick a reference
For badly damaged files, add an intact recording from the same camera. Haven uses it as the blueprint.
- 03
Repair & preview
The container is rebuilt, audio resynced, noise stripped. You see and hear the result — before you pay.
- 04
Export
Save the repaired file wherever you want. Your originals are never overwritten.
The five pillars
How Haven restores
your footage.
Container
01
Container reconstruction
When an MP4 is missing its moov atom header — the single most common reason a file refuses to open — Haven rebuilds it from the mdat stream. Frame by frame, with correct timestamps.
Audio
02
Audio drift correction
A damaged container almost always leaves audio running ahead of or behind the picture. Haven measures the exact drift down to the millisecond and shifts the track back frame-accurately. This is where other tools fall apart.
Cleanup
03
Noise-burst removal
When the audio decoder starts on corrupt bytes, you hear a full-scale clipping burst in the first 400–1000ms. Haven scans every 50ms audio block, flags the broken regions and silences them cleanly.
Reference
04
Reference matching
Badly damaged files (for example after a DiskDrill recovery) are often missing their codec parameters. Haven analyzes an intact file from the same camera, extracts the SPS/PPS parameters and uses them to reconstruct the rest.
Reporting
05
Honest reporting
If 18 frames in the middle are gone, Haven says so. If a file is only 70% recoverable, Haven shows you that before you pay. No tricks, no dressed-up success messages.
